The club was formed around 1992 to further the interests of jazz & blues music in Auckland.

The club has a membership of around 250 and has regular club nights every Tuesday evening at the Birkenhead RSA.

Concerts start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm with a break at half time. Meals are available before the concert. Full bar service.

Ample off-street parking. Come early to secure your seating.

Each night features a different local or out of town band.. Sometimes an International star makes an appearance.

Trudy Lile Quartet

Jazz vocalist and flutist Trudy Lile will be joined by some of New Zealand’s most professional and exquisite musicians. The music features great vocal arrangements and songs from the American Songbook, by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Richard Rodgers and as well as exciting original compositions with infectious jazz grooves.

Highlights in the last year include a performance at The Magnetic Jazz festival in Australia, a concert performance at the invitation of renowned US saxophonists Bennie Maupin (USA) (Herbie Hancock - Headhunters) and Dick Oatts (USA)(Vanguard Jazz Orchestra), a performance for his Excellency The Archbishop of Canterbury, and being flown to the Caribbean to perform on the exclusive luxury ship, The World.

Her vocal style has been described “beautifully chosen songs and a wonderfully fearless performer” - John Hoffman, trumpet (Woody Herman Band).
