The club was formed around 1992 to further the interests of jazz & blues music in Auckland.

The club has a membership of around 250 and has regular club nights every Tuesday evening at the Birkenhead RSA.

Concerts start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm with a break at half time. Meals are available before the concert. Full bar service.

Ample off-street parking. Come early to secure your seating.

Each night features a different local or out of town band.. Sometimes an International star makes an appearance.

SOUL BOSSA

Soul Bossa Duo, a Brazilian Bossa Nova founded by Amanda Bovo (vocals) and Juliana Sian (piano), has been representing Brazilian music in New Zealand since 2018. Both started their careers as musicians in Brazil. The duo has played in Auckland at venues such as Ponsonby Social Club, Dr. Rudi's, Botticelli Restaurant, Waiheke Festival, business events, and private parties.

In 2020, the concert "Black Pearls" earned glowing reviews from the 13th floor.

Juliana and Amanda are presently studying for a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance at the University of Auckland.Songs by Tom Jobim, Milton Nascimento, Elis Regina, and Gilberto Gil are among the varied repertoire, which incorporates traditional Brazilian jazz as well as other Brazilian rhythms.
