The club was formed around 1992 to further the interests of jazz & blues music in Auckland.

The club has a membership of around 250 and has regular club nights every Tuesday evening at the Birkenhead RSA.

Concerts start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm with a break at half time. Meals are available before the concert. Full bar service.

Ample off-street parking. Come early to secure your seating.

Each night features a different local or out of town band.. Sometimes an International star makes an appearance.

Allana Goldsmith

Allana Goldsmith Bio:

She is a mother of two and a self-managed, well-established vocalist round the Auckland scene (14yrs). Allana has several residencies in different genre bands (soul/post modern jukebox) and noted performance in jazz at the renowned the CJC (Creative Jazz Club, 2013), She also featured as a headline act at the 2017 Waiheke International Jazz Fest.

 

“In many ways she is reminiscent of the great singers of the past. What is not redolent of past singers, however, is her preparedness to tackle adventurous modern projects." - Gig review, Creative Jazz Club 2013.

 

Allana is no stranger to the Club, and is always happy to present a concert of bi-lingual original music and new interpretations of jazz standards. In 2016 she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Music –Vocal from NZSM; and is currently undertaking her Honours degree with the University of Auckland.
