UK Pianist/composer Mark Donlon leads a crack trio with Olivier Holland on bass (Auckland) and Thomas Friggens on drums (Wellington).

Mark moved to NZ in 2013 become Head of Jazz of the New Zealand School of Music at Victoria University in Wellington. Before moving to Aotearoa, he was in highly demand as a pianist on the UK/European Jazz and Latin Music scene. He has performed and recorded with the likes of Kenny Wheeler, Dave Liebman, Bob Minzer, Seamus Blake, Alex Sipiagin, amongst many others. He regularly presents 'Deep', a show devoted to Underground Electronic music, on Wellington's legendary Radioactive fm.

"..a streaming uptempo freedom, at times suggestive of the implacable precision of early Paul Bley." (John Fordham - The Guardian)

Bassist, composer, arranger and educator Olivier Holland has performed at major festivals and venues in Europe, Australasia and the US, with artists such as Geoffrey Keezer, Terreon Gully, Joscho Stephan, Denis Gaebel, Danny Weiss, Djamel Laroussi, Nathan Haines, Whirimako Black, Stefon Harris, John Goldsby, Doug Lawrence, Jamey Oehlers, James Muller and Florian Ross – to name a few. 2017 also saw him perform and present at the ISB (International Society of Bassists) world convention in New York. He has contributed to 22 CD releases, 3 of which are his own projects.

Genre-defying extraordinaire, Thomas Friggens powerfully straddles multiple musical worlds effortlessly and often simultaneously. He has been an integral member of a wide variety of bands, including Brockaflower, John the Baptist, The Balkanistas , and has even worked with percussion group Strike.
"A frighteningly talented jazz drummer who has toured the world" (Under The Radar 2016)
