This is Julie’s latest brainchild, and was formed by Julie as a trio in 2021, for (semi) regular gigs at Boticelli’s in Takapuna.

The trio is:
Julie Mason - Keys/ Piano/ vocals
Mostyn Cole - electric and acoustic basses
Jason Orme - drums/ percussion
They will be joined by Sam Swindells on both acoustic and electric guitars for this occasion.

Since 75% of the band are Sandringham based, they will be leading with a reworking of Julie’s “Sandringham Samba” along with a few other originals throughout the night. The musical emphasis will be on Latin, Fusion and Funky grooves, with some great works by Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Stevie Wonder, Grover Washington Jnr, JonI Mitchell, Al Jarreau.......a return to the 80s and 90s forJulie! Back in the day, she was playing these grooves with Peter Morgan, Max Stowers, Greg Tuohey, Matt Penmann amongst many others.

All of Julie’s fine young musicians ( well, stretching the young bit a little with Jason), are well known to club members, and Julie herself needs no introduction as she has been playing clubs and concerts throughout Australasia. The South Pacific and Europe for the past 40 years.
Pull on your Funky Boots and come on down!
