The club was formed around 1992 to further the interests of jazz & blues music in Auckland.

The club has a membership of around 250 and has regular club nights every Tuesday evening at the Birkenhead RSA.

Concerts start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm with a break at half time. Meals are available before the concert. Full bar service.

Ample off-street parking. Come early to secure your seating.

Each night features a different local or out of town band.. Sometimes an International star makes an appearance.

Sincere apologies from Trudy Lile - her partner has Covid so she is now unavailable for her 29 March concert.. Her amazing band will be accompanying a wonderful vocalist .............we appreciate Bex replacement at such short notice.

Bex Sioweli is a graduate of the Auckland Uni Jazz school, and has sung with Kevin Field for many years. Well known as an R n B and soul singer, she has released her own solo material in NZ and Fiji, where she has lived with her husband and children.She’s an incredible vocalist with amazing jazz phrasing, you’ll really enjoy her. Enjoy the gig tomorrow.

New Zealand born jazz flutist and vocalist Trudy Lile is well known to audiences around New Zealand jazz festivals, and has been a regular feature to Auckland audiences, performing with her own quartet, as well as with Sisters of Swing, The Jazz Divas, The Auckland Jazz Orchestra and The Rodger Fox Big Band.

Her band are considered some of New Zealand’s finest professional jazz musicians - Kevin Field (piano), Cameron McArthur (bass) and Ron Samsom (drums). 

The repertoire is a fresh, sophisticated and energetic blend of great things jazz and Latin, drawing on diverse influences such as Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O’Day, Dianne Reeves, Gretchen Parlato, Robert Glasper, and Adele. All delivered with a warm infectious groove and plenty of cheek and wit!
