Earlier this year two iconic artists in American jazz passed away, Sammy Nestico at the age of 96 and Chick Corea, 79.
Sammy Nestico was a prolific composer and arranger best know for his work with the Count Basie Orchestra but also countless other artists, musicians, bands and orchestras world wide.
Chick Corea was not only a virtuoso Jazz pianist, but also a prolific composer. He played with many of the the great jazz artists of our time such as Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock.
Queen City Big Band is privileged to have many of Sammy Nestico's and Chick Corea's compositions and arrangements in it's library and is proud pay tribute to their music presenting a program of some of their best work.
The band will also feature vocalist Rachel Clark and club president Mike Walker on Piano.
