Jenny B’s Jazz and Blues Vaccination

Tuesday 13 April 2021

If the music’s on vacation and you need some enervation,

Put an end to vacillation with our swinging vaccination.

In 2020 Jenny B presented her ‘Jenny B Unlocked’ to a full house at the Auckland Jazz and Blues Club, and her 2021 ‘jazz vaccination’ concert promises some great swinging jazz. Many first heard Jenny as the Italian recording and TV star who was the voice on the original recording of “Rhythm of the Night” (Corona), although she was never a member of the group. This song still keeps Jenny busy and in 2019 she re-recorded her voice for “Rhythm of the Night” at Roundhead Studios for Game developer UBISOFT (the team behind Assassin’s Creed) for the game Just Dance 2019. Also in 2019, the American group Black Eyed Peas, along with J Balvin, remixed the original “Rhythm of the Night” – now called “Ritmo”. It was used in the movie Bad Boys for Life, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. In 2021 “Ritmo” is doing well on YouTube and has received a Billboard Music Award nomination. Stand by for our jazz version of the song.

Jenny B will be backed by her front-line jazz worker’s quintet, featuring Lukas Fritsch (saxes), a significant player in the new breed of young jazz musicians; Nathan Collings (guitar), tasteful and swinging player and important jazz and guitar educator; Ben Fernandez (keyboards), a regular popular feature at the Club; Alberto Santarelli (bass), acknowledged as one of Auckland’s jazz legends; and Trevor Thwaites (drums), [NZ Government] Super star.
