Tuxedo Swing was formed some 30 years ago under the name “The 1932 Jazz Orchestra” and directorship of Merv Thomas. Back then the band’s focus was accurately reproducing the dance music of the late 1920’s through to the 1930’s.
Since that time the band has seen some many changes and it was over 16years ago Brendon Packard took over the band. It was soon after that the band decided that “The Tuxedo Swing Orchestra” was a more fitting name and with it came a refocus on specifically the swing dance styles of the 1940’s.
Tuxedo Swing has certainly survived the test of time and on Tuesday 28th May Brendon and the band will have a program that will certainly test your ability to sit still so come along and enjoy one of New Zealand’s finest swing bands.
