'The Simontologists' is the world music brainchild of Australian multi-instrumentalist Simon Ross, and reflects his eclectic musical journey over the past 20 years. After growing up as a jazz pianist in Melbourne, and playing with some of Australia's leading artists such as Virginia Gay, James Blundell, Vanessa Amorosi, James Reyne and Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Simon was part of the original foursome that formed duel Golden Guitar winning country group Jetty Road.
'The Simontologists' debut album 'Nine Short Films for the Blind' was released in late 2013, and lead to a string of festival performances across the world, including Manly Jazz Festival (NSW), Noosa Jazz Festival (Qld), Lechenicher Jazz Festival (Germany), Broadbeach Jazz Festival (Qld), Bay of Islands Jazz and Blues Festival (NZ), and Mildura Jazz Festival (Vic). A second Simontologists' album is scheduled for release in early 2017.
